Atticus empowers the world’s biggest companies to stand behind their critical corporate responsibilities.
We provide law firms, listed companies, and funds, with verification software to fact-check critical documents before they're disclosed to market — ESG statements, annual reports, modern slavery reports, investment prospectuses, and more.
Our users love Atticus because we save them a lot of pain in high pressure, high stakes work, and because our software is a delight to use — powerful, fast, reliable, and secure.

“[We're] able to give the right customer the right product, at the right time, when they need it. The time spent by the CoSec team on ‘building the verification’ has significantly reduced.”
“Slaughter and May deployed Atticus on the largest London listing in a decade.”
Atticus is a bootstrapped, profitable, growing Melbourne-based technology startup.
Although we're still a small team, our software is used by 80% of the Australian legal market, 30% of the UK Top 30 law firms, 30% of the ASX Top 50 — and we’re just getting started.
Since founding in 2017, we’ve grown at a VC-backed pace, without needing VC funding. It’s the startup business model people forget about: build great software that people want to buy.

At Atticus, our Product team operates in a hybrid model. Some of us work from our Melbourne office a few days a week and others fully remotely. We have team members based around the world, from Melbourne, to London, to Toronto.
We embrace a flat team structure, where Platform Engineers collaborate closely with Engineering, Designers, and Product Consultants. Following the Basecamp ‘Shape Up’ process, everyone has the opportunity to pitch project ideas and we select the most promising pitches to work on within a six-week cycle. We then allow for a two-week cooldown period to regroup, work on smaller tasks and plan for the next cycle.
From a technical standpoint, we prioritise user empathy and maintain high standards. Our deployment process involves rigorous code reviews, multiple daily releases (excluding Friday afternoons), and continuous deployment with automated end-to-end tests.
Our tech stack includes Node.js for the backend and React/Redux on the frontend, with most new code written in TypeScript. Our cloud infrastructure is in AWS, all managed using Terraform.
For collaboration and planning, we utilise Google Docs, Jira, Slack, Tuple, and GitHub. Our Design team utilises Figma, Canva, and Dovetail for user interviews.
In terms of company culture, we value autonomy, quality-driven work, and thinking loudly. Success is evaluated on output—not hours—because we know people do their best work when they have time to enjoy their life. We also encourage growth through education budgets and mentorship opportunities.
We’re always on the lookout for people who want to contribute to our ambitious goals. If you enjoy a high-trust environment, have a rigorous work ethic and value thoughtful communication with your peers, you’ll fit right in with the Product team at Atticus.

We get excited about tackling unknown problems and pitching in to help, even when we don’t quite feel like we know what we’re doing.
We’re great at building relationships and getting things done with others, no matter the medium.
We move fast without breaking things. Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast.
When in doubt, we give something a try and see if it works.
We don’t confuse a great slide deck or elegant code for genuine user outcomes, and if we're blocked on a process, we try other ways.
We speak as though we're right, and listen as though we're wrong.
We have a dog-friendly Collingwood office that you can work from if you’re in Melbourne, and fly remote people to visit once a quarter.
Four months (16 weeks) of paid parental leave for both primary and secondary carers.
Five weeks of paid annual leave, to take at your leisure. Take an extra day off on your birthday.
Generous allowance on commencement to invest in a good monitor, chair, or other equipment you need. You’ll also be supplied with a new MacBook Pro or MacBook Air.
We have a generous professional development program, so generous that the details are sensitive.
All of us make time every day to walk the dog, do the school run, or go for a surf — and we turn off Slack after hours. If we work late, we’ll start late the next morning.
