Solve real-world problems for everyday Australians

As one of Australia's largest banks, NAB serves over 9 million customers. Whether customers are making payments through NAB's mobile app, buying their first home or saving for a holiday, NAB's technology enables these experiences.

NAB is embarking on a journey to build microservices and cloud-native applications to solve real-world problems for their customers. This will require skills and expertise from software engineers at every level to be part of the journey to transform the technology stack.

A wealth of opportunity to contribute

NAB is looking for individuals who are passionate about making platforms as user-friendly as possible and delivering the best possible experience to all its users.

Engineers will have the opportunity to participate in several interesting Agile projects, with a focus on improving the quality of the platform and delivering new products.

Engineering culture

NAB was the first bank in Australia to launch a cloud-first strategy and aims to have 80% of its apps in the cloud in 2023. The Engineering team has also embraced microservices architectures to scale faster through a platform-based approach.

NAB has also developed NAB-X, a platform for the federated delivery of frontend capabilities.

One of the unique features of NAB's Engineering team is the NAB Cloud Guild. Guild membership is open to all NAB Engineers to help them build advanced technical skills. Over 7,000 Engineers have undertaken some form of training via the NAB Cloud Guild, including 2,700 industry recognised cloud certifications. NAB also runs other guilds with a Data and Analytics focus.
